W. T. Morris was convicted of the murder of J. W. Barfield by shooting him with a pistol, and was sentenced to life imprisonment. .His motion for a new trial was overruled, and he excepted.
The defendant and the deceased were members of the police force of the City of Atlanta, and the deceased, a lieutenant, was the defendant’s next superior officer. The evidence showed that at the time of the homicide the defendant and the deceased were riding togther in an automobile along Peachtree Street in Atlanta.
