St. Anthony Falls Water Power Co. v. Eastman

Appeal by plaintiff from an order of tbe district court for Hennepin county refusing a new trial. This was an action to recover damages for injury to certain lands and water power of tbe plaintiff through tbe alleged negligence of tbe defendants in tbe excavation of a tunnel at tbe Falls of St. Anthony, in the Mississippi River. At this point tbe river is divided by two islands lying on the easterly side of tbe main channel, the lower belonging to the plaintiff and known as Hennepin Island, tbe upper known as Nicollet Island.
