This is an action brought by Stephen A: Koser, a railroad employee, against the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company (ATSF) under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA), 45 U.S.C. §-51 etseq. (1994). ATSF conceded liability. The question of the amount of damages was submitted to. a jury, which awarded Koser $1,137,860 for his personal injuries.
