—In an action to recover damages for personal injuries, the defendants appeal from so much of an order of the Supreme Court, Nassau County (Feuerstein, J.), entered December 9, 1998, as denied their cross motion for partial summary judgment dismissing the *656plaintiffs’ demand for punitive damages, and the plaintiffs cross-appeal, as limited by their brief, from so much of the same order as denied that branch of their motion which was to preclude the defendants from contesting their entitlement to punitive damages.

Ordered that the order is affirmed insofar as appealed and cross-appealed from,…
