This matter is before this Court on Plaintiffs’ Motion for a New Tidal, for Reconsideration or for Rehearing on the Issue of Compactness relative to an Order of this Court entered on March 3, 1993, 814 F.Supp. 1346. At trial, Plaintiffs sought to have Defendants’ 1991 redistricting plan for supervisors in Lawrence County declared to be in violation of § 2 of the Voting Rights Act, to have the terms of the supervisors elected in 1991 shortened and new elections ordered, and to have Defendants’ 1984 justice court districts declared to be in…
