| gDefendant/appellant, Derrick Holt (“Holt”), appeals his conviction on two counts of second degree murder committed on September 6, 2003, violations of La. R.S. 14:30.1. For the reasons that follow, we affirm.

Following his indictment for the murders, Holt filed a Motion to Appoint a Sanity Commission to Determine Competency to Stand Trial. The trial court ordered that a sanity commission be appointed to determine his competency to stand trial and to determine his I.Q., i.e., his level of mental retardation.
