Plaintiff-appellant Brian Hanke brought this action against his employer, Orville Wacker, d/b/a Wacker’s Hog and Grain (defendant), to recover for injuries sustained when he was attacked by a boar. The jury returned a verdict in favor of the defendant from which plaintiff appeals.

Plaintiff began working on defendant’s farm in 1979 as a hired hand, and shortly thereafter defendant began raising hogs. Defendant utilized several buildings in the hog operation, and one of these buildings was a sow house which contains several hog pens. The pens were built by defendant in 1980, and the ones…
