Albert Bodeman sued the city of San Antonio for nine months’ salary, at $85 per month, as detective in the police department of said city. He alleged that on July 20, 1911, a commission duly signed by the mayor and attested by the city clerk of said city, under the corporate seal of said city, was issued to him appointing him to the office and position of detective in the police department of said city, he having been previously appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the city council to said office and position as provided by the charter of said city, said appointment, under the Constitution…
