RALPH R. MABEY, Bankruptcy Judge.

The issues arising in this case concern the circumstances under which pre-bankruptcy wage garnishments in Utah effect preferential transfers under 11 U.S.C. § 547(b).

FACTS

Lars D. Larson (debtor) filed a petition for relief under Chapter 7 on January 13, 1981. Olympic Finance Company (Olympic), a judgment creditor, had garnished his wages four times. Olympic served the first garnishment on October 6, 1980, more than 90 days before the petition was filed. Within 90 days before debtor’s filing, Olympic secured and executed a judgment on this…
