This action was instituted in the court below by the appellant, Paducah & Illinois Perry Company, a corporation, to recover of the appellee, Charles L. Robertson, the value of a steamboat, known as the Gr. W. Robertson, ferry franchise, landings, docks and wharves at the city of Paducah, of which it claimed to be the owner, upon the ground, as alleged, that appellee had unlawfully converted the same to his own use; it being further alleged in the petition that the steamboat was of the value of $10,000.00 and the landings, docks, wharves and…
