Originally, defendant was charged as follows: (count I) kidnaping, in violation of section 207 of the Penal Code; (count II) kidnaping for the purpose of robbery, in violation of section 209 of the Penal Code; (count IH) robbery, in violation of section 211 of the Penal Code; (count TV) assault with intent to commit murder, in violation of section 217 of the Penal Code; (count V) grand theft in violation of section 487, subdivision 3, of the Penal Code; (count VI) violation of section 10851 of the Vehicle Code.
