By charter made March 28, 1892, the respondents chartered the Yorktown for a voyage from Taltal and Pisagua to carry nitrates to New York on respondents’ account, freight to be paid at and after the rate of 17 shillings per ton. Clause 17 of the charter provided that the charterers should supply the master in Valparaiso, or loading port, with such advances as might be necessary, not exceeding £-, which, with the cost of insurance thereof, was to be reimbursed by the master in cash immediately after the arrival of the vessel at the port of discharge; and that any…
