BEAR, J.

The petitioner, Christopher Norton, appeals following the denial of his petition for certification to appeal from the judgment of the habeas court denying his amended petition for a writ of habeas coipus. On appeal, the petitioner claims that the court improperly denied his petition for certification to appeal because his claims of ineffective assistance of counsel had merit.
