The defendant, Christofe P. Belle, was charged in a substitute information with the crimes of sexual assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-701 and burglary in the second *259degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-102.2 After a jury trial, he was acquitted of the charged offenses, but was convicted of criminal trespass in the second degree; General Statutes § 53a-108;3 a lesser included offense of burglary in the second degree.
