Vincent W. Hallinan was charged by indictment with violating section 145, subdivision (b), of the Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. § 145, subd. (b) ) * by “willfully and knowingly filfing] false and fraudulent income tax returns. ’ ’ The jury found Mm guilty as charged on five counts of the indictment. The court sentenced him to 18 months imprisonment on each count, the sentences to run concurrently, and fined him $50,000. He did not appeal, and the time for appeal has now elapsed.
