WIGGINS, Circuit Judge:
Maria Marta Florez-de Solis (Solis) seeks review of a Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) order dismissing her appeal from an immigration judge’s denial of her request for political asylum under section 208(a) of the Refugee Act, 8 U.S.C. § 1158(a) (1982), and for withholding of deportation under section 243(h) of the Immigration and Na*332tionality Act, 8 U.S.C. § 1253(h) (1982). We conclude that the BIA applied the correct legal standards to Solis’ requests and that its decision is supported by substantial evidence. We therfore deny the petition for review.
