W. EUGENE DAVIS, Circuit Judge:
Ingalls Shipbuilding (Ingalls) appeals the order of the Benefits Review Board (BRB) awarding Maggie Yates death benefits under section 9 of the Longshore and Harbor Workers Compensation Act (the “Act”), 33 U.S.C. § 909. We affirm.

Jefferson Yates worked periodically as a shipfitter for Ingalls in Pascagoula, Mississippi, from 1953 until 1967, during which time he was exposed to asbestos. He worked in unrelated non-maritime employment from 1967 to 1974, when he voluntarily retired at age 67. In March 1981, he was evaluated for asbestos-related diseases and was…
