Almost two decades ago, the federal district court in Indianapolis issued an injunction requiring the busing of public schoolchildren living in certain parts of the city that were primarily black to public schools located in primarily white suburban areas of Marion County. 506 F.Supp. 657, 676-77 (S.D.Ind. 1979), aff'd in relevant part, 637 F.2d 1101, 1112-15 (7th Cir.1980).
