Since their enactment, section 10 of the Cannabis Control Act (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1977, ch. 56/2, par. 710) and section 410 of the Controlled Substances Act (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1977, ch. 56½, par. 1410) have provided for a procedure whereby persons who plead or are found guilty of violations of certain provisions of those acts, as a first offense, may be placed by the court on a special type of probation.
