Rion Pheal Snowden, the appellant, was convicted by a jury of family-violence assault on Lavondra Jennings, who was about thirty-eight weeks pregnant with the appellant’s child at the time of the assault. The jury assessed punishment at two years’ imprisonment. In an unpublished opinion, the Fifth Court of Appeals in Dallas reversed the appellant’s conviction and remanded the cause to the trial court for a new trial.
