Plaintiff Unilab Corporation, doing business as Quest Diagnostics (Quest), seeks payment from defendant Angeles-IPA (Angeles) for out-of-network laboratory testing services that were ordered by in-network physicians for Angeles patients. Quest presented several theories, including breach of implied contract, unjust enrichment, quantum meruit, and common counts. Angeles moved for summary adjudication, which the trial court granted as to all but two causes of action that were subsequently dismissed by Quest.
