This case came before the Supreme Court on October 27, 2010, pursuant to an order directing the parties to appear and show cause why the issues raised in this appeal should not summarily be decided. The defendants, Earl Blamires (Earl), Earl’s wife, Sylvia Blamires (Sylvia), and Earl’s son, Brian Blamires (Brian and collectively the Blamires), appeal from a Superior Court judgment denying their appeal from a District Court default judgment entered in favor of the plaintiff, Val-Gioia Properties (plaintiff or Val-Gi-oia).
