On the 29th of July, 1931, the appellant, J. E. Vann, in a 1929 model Ford coupé, accompanied by Ms wife, drove from their country home to the town of Coffee-ville to attend a public political speaking at the courthouse. After attending the speaking, Vann and his wife drove to Main street and parked thereon in front of Bates Drug Store and the Ooffeeville Bank against the curb facing west.
