This action was brought by the Farmers and Bankers Life Insurance Company against W. R. Whitney, to recover on four promissory notes executed at different times by the defendant in favor of the plaintiff, and aggregating $1,100. The answer was a general denial and a counterclaim setting forth an indebtedness of the plaintiff to defendant arising out of agreements and certain agency transactions.
