BACKGROUND
On August 23, 1989, the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation ordered, pursuant to Title 28 United States Code § 1407, the case of Robert Eckstein, et al. v. Balcor Film Investors, et al., (“Eckstein”)1 to be transferred from the Central District of California to this court for consolidated pretrial proceedings with Ralph Majeski, et al. v. Balcor Film Investors, et al. (“Majeski”). The plaintiffs in both actions have moved this court to certify a class consisting of all persons who purchased limited partnership interests…
