delivered the opinion of the court:
Soon after Granny’s Rocker Nite Club (Granny’s Rocker) opened in the mid-1980’s, it began having a weekly “fanny” contest, which involves male and female volunteer contestants competing for cash prizes by dancing on the dance floor. The audience is the judge of the contest. While attending the fanny contest on April 4, 1990, plaintiff, Jeffrey Loomis, got into a fight with another patron. During the altercation Loomis’ right ear was bitten and tom. Loomis was hospitalized and surgery was performed to repair his ear.
