KEATING, Senior Judge:

In a contested trial before members, the appellant was convicted of indecent acts and forcible sodomy with a child under the age of 16 years. He was sentenced to a dishonorable discharge, confinement for 2 years, forfeitures of $400.00 pay per month for 2 years, and reduction to pay grade E-l. The convening authority approved the sentence as awarded. The appellant assigns several errors before this Court.1 We find merit in *673one of these and take corrective action. We also specified an additional issue,2 which we discuss below.
