Appellant Midland-Ross appeals a district court judgment entered upon a jury verdict in favor of its former employee, Frederick *939Simpson. Simpson’s complaint charged that he was unlawfully discharged in violation of the Michigan Elliott-Larsen Act, Mich.Comp.Laws Ann. § 37.2101 et seq., and the federal Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), 29 U.S.C. § 621 et seq.
