In April, 1879, Lady Laura Trevelyan, of England, departed this life, intestate, seized and possessed of large-landed estates in the counties of Amelia and Dinwiddle in this State. For several years prior to her death the appellant was her agent in the management of these estates, and on the twenty-fourth of September, 1879, he qualified; in the county court of Amelia county as her administrator.-.
