On May 24, 1991, Defendant Floyd executed and delivered to American National Bank — Post Oak (“the Bank”) a promissory note (the “Note”) payable to the order of the Bank in the original principal amount of two hundred and forty thousand dollars ($240,-000.00), bearing interest before maturity at the rate of 11% per annum.
