J.D.B. appeals the judgment from Lincoln County Circuit Court committing him to the care, custody, and treatment of the Department of Mental Health because he was found to qualify as a "sexually violent predator" (a "SVP") within the meaning of § 632.480(5) of the Sexually Violent Predator Act (the "SVPA").1 This determination was made at a jury trial held in the Lincoln County Circuit Court, Probate Division.
