In this case, appellant-defendants (hereinafter “defendants”) move for an emergency stay, pursuant to Fed.R.App.P. 8 and 27, of a remand order entered by the district court on October 28, 1991. Defendants have a petition for mandamus and an appeal pending before this court. The com*662mon issue is whether this court can review the district court’s order remanding the case to state court, despite the prohibition on review contained in 28 U.S.C. § 1447(d).
