In this action of tort to recover damages incurred by the plaintiff to his automobile caused by the alleged negligence of the defendant, there was evidence that: The plaintiff, while driving on Hammond Street in Boston, stopped at the intersection of Tremont Street and saw a car on his right about 175 feet away. He started to cross at a speed of seven or eight miles per hour and got across both sets of car tracks and stopped.
