A jury in the circuit court of Du Page County convicted defendant, Rafael Cedeno, of first degree murder (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1991, ch. 38, par. 9—1 (now codified, as amended, at 720 ILCS 5/9—1 (West 1992))). The court sentenced him to 45 years’ imprisonment. Defendant appeals both the conviction and the sentence.
