On the 21st of April, 1887, Adam Maxwell, a merchant carrying on business at Olarinda, Iowa, executed a deed of assignment for the benefit of his creditors "to Valentino Grail'. The plaintiffs, to whom Maxwell was indebted for goods sold on credit, brought suit to recover the amount due, and, having judgment therefor, they now seek to *728subject the proceeds of the assigned property to the payment of their judgment, on the ground that the assignment is void as against creditors.
