delivered the opinion of the court.

This is an appeal from a verdict and judgment thereon for $7,500. Plaintiff is a swatch tender for the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad. On the morning of March 21, 1949, at about 7:00 a. m., he alighted from a southeastbound Milwaukee avenue streetcar at California avenue, in Chicago, for the purpose of taking a southbound California avenue car. He was injured while he was attempting to board such a car.
