On August 22, 1983, the plaintiffs were involved in a two-vehicle accident in the County of Queens. The plaintiffs were allegedly injured as a result of that accident.

Special Term determined that the plaintiffs failed to meet *719the threshold requirement of a "serious injury” within the meaning of Insurance Law § 5102 (d) (formerly § 671 [4]).
