Anthony Whitmill, a Missouri prisoner, appeals the district court’s dismissal of his federal habeas corpus petition. We affirm.

I. BACKGROUND

On the night of February 17, 1987, two brothers, Nivey and Theordis Mitchell, returned to their Kansas City home near the 2400 block of Forest Street, an area frequented by prostitutes.
