In this interlocutory appeal the People challenge the trial court’s ruling granting the defendant’s motion to suppress certain statements made by him and certain physical evidence. We affirm.

On June 26, 1979, Michelle Conley, an 11-year-old girl, was swimming at the Pinehurst County Club (Club) in Denver. At approximately 8:00 p.m. she left the pool area to go to the women’s locker room. When she did not return by 8:40 p.m., a search for her was commenced.
