This is a suit by a law firm to collect unpaid fees from a former client.

Plaintiff Waite, Schneider, Bayless & Chesley Co., L.P.A. represented defendant Allen Davis for more than six years in connection with certain of Davis’s claims *794against CNG Financial Corporation, a closely held company that Davis’s two sons controlled. .

In March, 2011, Davis instructed Waite, Schneider to dismiss the lawsuit it had filed against CNG. Six months later, Davis, with the assistance of new counsel, entered a settlement agreement with CNG that, by and. large, resolved…
