OPINION
PATEL, District Judge.
This case is before this court for review of the Secretary’s denial of disability benefits under 42 U.S.C. §§ 423 and 1381a. The standard for review is whether the decision is supported by “substantial evidence,” or “such relevant evidence as a reasonable mind might accept as adequate to support a conclusion.” Johnson v. Harris, 625 F.2d 311, 312 (9th Cir. 1980). Plaintiff applied for benefits November 21, 1978. His application was denied, after a hearing by an administrative law judge, on October 29, 1979.
