This is a direct appeal in a criminal action from jury convictions of rape (K.S.A. 1983 Supp. 21-3502) and aggravated sodomy (K.S.A. 1983 Supp. 21-3506). Many of the facts are undisputed and essentially are as follows: The victim, whom we will call Mrs. T, was separated from her husband and lived with her two and one-half year old son in Leavenworth.
