This proceeding was begun by a petition to the civil district court for the parish of Orleans to obtain an award in workmen’s compensation for the death of Eugene Dourrieu, who was drowned in the Industrial Canal at New Orleans on April 23, 1931, while in the service of the board of commissioners of the port of New Orleans. The petition was filed by Mts. Dourrieu on her own behalf as the widow of the said deceased employee and also on behalf of her children, Eugene, who was about 11 years of age at the time of his father’s death, and Thelma, who was over the age of 18, but on…
