BAUER, Circuit Judge.
Robert G. Kavanagh appeals the district court’s denial of his 28 U.S.C. § 2254 petition for a writ of habeas corpus (“habeas petition”). We affirm.
BACKGROUND
In 1989, a jury convicted Kavanagh of one count of first-degree sexual assault on his young nephew. The jury acquitted Kav-anagh of another sexual assault count involving the same victim. The trial court sentenced Kavanagh to 15 years imprisonment. After exhausting his state post-conviction remedies, Kavanagh filed a federal habeas petition.
