INTRODUCTION
When Independent School District No. 833 (“the District”) decided not to renew Nathan McGuire’s contract to coach the varsity girls’ basketball team at Woodbury High School, he sued the District, its Superintendent, Keith Jacobus, and its Director of Human Resources, Denise Griffith (collectively, “Defendants”), alleging a deprivation of procedural due process in violation of the 14th Amendment (Counts I and II).1 Defendants now move for judgment on the pleadings as to Counts I and II.
