These cases (consolidated) present the question of the validity of assignments of life insurance policies executed by the insured, the policies being payable to his estate. The assignee prevailed and the administrator and heirs of the insured appeal.
The facts are substantially as follows: On September 16, 1925, the Medical Life Insurance Company issued a policy on the life of John C. Spickler for $15,000 payable to his estate. Some time thereafter the Royal Union Life Insurance Company of Des Moines, la., took over the property and assets…
