Defendants Josephine Castagna and Thomas D’Amico were tried together with Jean Morales for various charges arising out of the death of Bennett Grant. Castagna was convicted of second-degree aggravated assault, N.J.S.A 2C:12-l(b), and D’Amico was convicted of first-degree aggravated manslaughter, N.J.S.A 2C:ll-4(a), two counts of second-degree official misconduct, N.J.SA 2C:30-2(a) and (b), and fourth-degree obstruction of justice, N.J.SA 2C:29-1.
