The state appeals an order suppressing evidence gathered when an officer asked to see the contents of defendant’s fanny pack during the course of a traffic stop. The trial court held that the officer lacked justification for expanding the scope of the stop to include questioning about the contents of the pack. The state contends that the trial com! erred, because the officer had reason to believe that the pack could have contained a weapon.
