This is an action to foreclose a mortgage given by one Emma A. Hewitt to one Oallie McDonald, April 1, 1881, upon lands situate in the city of Milwaukee, to secure the payment of $1,400 and the interest thereon. The plaintiff became the owner of the mortgage and the debt secured thereby, by assignment from said mortgagee, on the 4th day of May, 1881.
