In this case, Dr. Nevin M. Katz, appellant, filed a diversity action claiming that he was improperly terminated from his tenured position as a Professor and Surgeon at Georgetown University Medical Center (“GUMC”), because he was denied one-year’s advance notice prior to his dismissal.
